Hey guys... My better half said this dish was the best I've made since we've been together, and I've made a lot for him, so that says something. Literally translated, it means "stew with potatoes and meat." I named it "Turkish stew" myself.
For 4 to 5 people as a main course
30 minutes of work + 2.5 hours of simmering
Ingredients:
1 kg stewing beef (beef)
1 red bell pepper
3 onions
3 cloves of garlic
1 carrot
1 teaspoon Turkish chili flakes (pul biber)
2 tablespoons tomato paste (domates salçası)
2 tablespoons paprika paste (biber salçası tatlı)
700 ml beef broth and 300 ml water
Salt to taste
1 kg waxy potatoes
Fresh parsley for garnish.
Instructions:
✨ Pour a splash of oil into a stew pot and brown the meat.
✨ Place the bell pepper, onion, garlic, and carrot in a food processor and chop them finely, almost to a puree.
✨ Add this mixture to the meat and allow it to sauté for a bit.
✨ Add the tomato paste, paprika paste, and pul biber. Season with salt to taste.
✨ Pour in the broth and water. Let it simmer gently for 2 to 3 hours with a lid.
✨ Peel the potatoes and add them in. Let it simmer for 30 minutes without the lid.
✨ Finish with fresh parsley.
✨ Serve with pilaf (rice), recipe can be found on my site
